However, that’s not all! Ras Al Khaimah has a stunning coastline. While a couple of the beaches are man-made, several are entirely natural. Ras Al Khaimah has some of the most excellent beaches in the Arabian Gulf.
Whether you want to take a long beach stroll, relax at a beach resort, or catch a fantastic sunset, Ras Al Khaimah’s 65km stretch of coast will impress any beach lover.
Here's a detailed guide to the best beaches in Ras Al Khaimah.
Stunning Ras Al Khaimah Beaches
1. Al Hamra Beach in Ras Al Khaimah
Al Hamra is in the southern part of Ras Al Khaimah and is home to a mix of luxury residences and beach resorts. This long stretch of beach is beautifully maintained with crystal-clear waters and golden sand.
In true Ras Al Khaimah style, the Al Hamra marina offers various adventurous activities, such as kayaking, paddleboarding, and sailing.
Just 45 minutes from Dubai, it is the perfect spot for day trippers to finish off a day of exploring Ras Al Khaimah, although we think it’s best to visit for a few days!
2. Flamingo Beach, Ras Al Khaimah
Flamingo Beach is a little more secluded and is a hidden gem away from the busier areas.
It’s the ideal place to spend the day, especially with kids, as the water is relatively shallow.
There aren’t a tonne of facilities directly on the beach. However, some restaurants are nearby, or you can always bring a picnic.
3. Al Marjan Island
Al Marjan Island is a man-made archipelago of four islands stretching 4.5km out to sea. It’s home to some of the Emirate’s incredible luxury resorts, including Waldorf Astoria and Rixos.
These resorts have incredible private beaches with all you could want. Crystal clear water, stretches of white sand, loungers, cabanas, restaurants and bars. Not to mention tens of water sports to enjoy.
Some resorts offer day passes, allowing guests to make the most of the facilities and the beach.
4. Mina Al Arab Beach
Mina Al Arab Beach is great for those who like to explore while at the beach. This area is an ecological reserve with plenty of mangroves to discover on a kayak. These mangroves attract wildlife like birds, fish, and other marine life.
Aside from the lush mangroves, two man-made islands are home to resorts, a running track, and beautiful cafes and restaurants along the marina area.
Mina Al Arab is the perfect location to spend a day exploring the local area at the beach.
5. Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Beach Resort
As the name suggests, Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Beach Resort has its own 1.5 km stretch of beach. While the beach is for in-house guests, a day pass is also available.
Day passes include access to the resort’s facilities, such as the pool, fitness centre and water sports like windsurfing, sailing, and paddleboarding.
There are many amenities for families, and the beach is perfect for little ones.
6. Al Rams Beach
Al Rams Beach is a public beach that tends to attract residents and is less touristy. It’s ideal for walking as it’s long and flat. Locals also love to fish here, and some use traditional boats that are pretty to see just off the coast.
It’s always lovely to see how the residents explore their local area, so Al Rams Beach is the ideal spot to get a feel for life in Ras Al Khaimah.
7. Iceland Water Park Beach
Although Iceland Water Park is technically not a beach, it has many slides and attractions for families. It also has a small beach area ideal for kids wanting to build sand castles.
It’s a fantastic option to have fun amenities and the beach all in one area.
8. Al Qawasim Corniche
Whilst there is no technical beach along the Al Qawasim Corniche, there is a long stretch of waterfront promenade to wander along, whether for a stroll, run, or cycle.
Watching the sun go down from the promenade or a kayak exploring the nearby mangroves is ideal. The Corniche is the perfect blend of urban life on the backdrop of the mangroves!
As you can see, many beaches in Ras Al Khaimah have something for everyone. Whether you want a long walk, luxury beachside amenities, or something quite secluded, there are plenty of options stretching along the coast of this beautiful Emirate.
